Inspire ALP provides a flexible and nurturing alternative education pathway for students aged 5–16 across East Central Bristol, North Bristol, South Bristol, and South Gloucestershire. Our provision is designed for young people who face barriers to mainstream education, including those at risk of exclusion or those with disrupted learning histories.

What we offer
We deliver a broad range of learning and enrichment opportunities tailored to students with diverse additional needs. Our approach blends academic qualifications with hands-on, practical experiences, creating a well-rounded, engaging programme that supports both personal and educational progress.

From September 2026, Inspire ALP will also launch a dedicated Post-16 Programme. This will include:
- 12 hours per week of Functional Skills learning
- Career guidance
- Support with work placements, apprenticeships, and employment pathways
Our Learning Approach
At Inspire ALP, we deliver project-based education that integrates literacy, numeracy, and communication skills into real-world learning. Our small group sessions and one-to-one support allow students to:
- Build confidence in a classroom setting
- Re-engage with learning at their own pace
- Demonstrate progress in practical, achievable ways
- Work toward reintegration into mainstream or specialist education
Each young person has access to subject specialists, including:
- A qualified sports coach
- A gym instructor
- A music production team

Beyond the Classroom: Enrichment & SEMH
We understand that academic success is built on strong Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) foundations. That’s why we offer a rich programme of practical, engaging activities that promote wellbeing and skill-building:

- Music production
- Cookery
- Life skills
- Educational trips
- Bowling
Mentoring at the Core
Every student is paired with a dedicated mentor who brings real-life experience, empathy, and a deep understanding of individual needs. Mentors help:
- Foster trust and build positive relationships
- Promote consistent attendance
- Encourage growth through meaningful sessions
- Model respectful boundaries and positive behaviour
Transport & Meals Provided
We remove barriers to attendance by offering transport to and from sessions. Young people are collected from home or school and returned safely after each session. We also provide nutritious lunches, ensuring every learner is fuelled for the day.
Inspire ALP: A Bridge to the Future
We are here to support young people during periods of transition — whether that’s returning to education, moving into employment, or building a better relationship with learning. Our ultimate goal is to empower students to move forward with confidence, armed with the tools and support they need to thrive.
